Hi, I'm Jason DeSomer, the photographer behind Whatever.Photo. My approach to life and photography is deeply influenced by several philosophical beliefs, including Amor Fati, Memento Mori, Stoicism, and Existentialism. These principles shape my perspective and drive my passion for capturing the fleeting moments of life.

I believe in embracing every aspect of our fate, finding beauty in both the ordinary and extraordinary moments. Memento Mori reminds me of the inevitability of death and the importance of living fully in the present. Stoicism teaches me to focus on what I can control and accept what I cannot, maintaining a sense of calm and contentment regardless of circumstances. Existentialism encourages me to create my own meaning and essence through my actions and choices, living authentically and embracing life's absurdities.

My laid-back, easygoing nature is a reflection of these beliefs. People often describe me as extremely chill and relaxed, which stems from my acceptance of whatever life brings. I find joy in capturing the raw, unfiltered moments that make up our lives, knowing that each photo holds the potential to become a cherished memory for generations.

Through my photography, I aim to share this perspective with others, helping them see the importance of preserving even the smallest moments. Whether it's a professional headshot, a candid documentary session, or an artistic portrait, my goal is to create images that tell authentic stories and evoke deep emotions.

“Photography is the story I fail to put into words.”

— Destin Sparks

I'm also known for my sense of humor, often turning situations into jokes and making people laugh. This ability to find humor in life's quirks is part of my philosophy of embracing and loving one's fate. I build strong, trusting relationships with my clients, creating a safe and comfortable environment where they can be themselves.

Overall, my photography is about more than just taking pictures—it's about capturing the essence of life, with all its beauty and impermanence, and helping others see the value in every moment.
